Here you are ... the official (well not really, but it was a good score on Google) history of Chili ala Cocoa.

Outside of the state of Texas, Cincinnati, Ohio, is the most chili-crazed city in the United States. ...........
    http://whatscookingamerica.net/Beef/CincinnatiChili.htm

Anyone from Cincinnati here? ..... and they can speak to their local official food!

I first had it while visiting friends a few years ago. When my friend was making it, I thought, OMG are they ever weird!!! Then we ate it .... a lovely dark chili, and with just a hint of the cocoa in it.

The fun part was that you could "build your own" and everyone could have their chili, just the way they liked it! :)

So nay sayers ... never say never ... until you at least have tried it!

And don't forget the Canadian cheddar cheeeeeeeeeeese!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What is mole?
It's a sauce that was created by some Mexican nuns. Somebody important in the church was coming for a visit and their cupboards were almost bare. They fixed chicken and used what they had including chocolate to make a sauce and it was a hit.
Online it says that it is a sauce with an intoxicating blend of chocolate, chiles, garlic, onions and nuts and so much more.
And you can put peanut butter in it too!

I am not really that picky. I was raised on a farm and we raised our own livestock when we were little, so I probably ate things that others would say--Ick!!! I just know what I like. lol
