$400.00 is way too much money for a featherweight. Do not oat that. You should get one for around $ 200.00. No more. Accesories, book and everything should be with it. ALSO should be in mint cndition. Hope this helps.

I took the snap-on foot off my old singer and it works great on my FW with all of the snap on feet. $400. is a bit high but then they are going up in price. Still some nice ones out there for $250.-300.

It has been my experience that Singer parts are fairly easy to find. I know they still make the belts and other parts so maybe if you check with a Singer dealer they can fix you up! HAPPY QUILTING!!!!

I tried the one with the little edge guide too, only it soes not sew a scant 1/4 seam. I still prefer vintage parts for vintage machines. The gauge presser foot (find it on ebay and expect to pay about 50 to 75 dollars for it)is the best because you can add the bars at the back for the guide, the foot is narrow, and totally adjustable. Otherwise tape works fine, but in the long run can damage the vintage surface of a featherweight and thus hurt the value.:)

    Sandy,
Thanks for the tip on Featherweight-Poppy website. I live in Salisbury, NC and will definitely check him out when needing service for mine.
