Your welcome Joan, I like to surf craigslist and I have seen a few on there. If you want I can PM any I see over here to you. If you find one, that would also give you a reason to come on over and see us folks on the wetter side of the state ;-)
I laughed hard at the gal that was asking $700.00 for one of the aqua FW's about a week or so ago. Sorry but if you buy that you have more money than sense. They aren't even that old as I understand it. I wouldn't buy one just to look at either. That would be a shame.
    Just my opinion.
    Faith

PS so what is the Feedback number under our Avatars about?

I also live in the NW. $375 is a good price if it is in good running condition and pretty good decals. We regularly sell nice decal, completely serviced for $400. condition is the real motivator for price. a good machine w/poor decals might be 275-300. be wary of too cheap a price--usually there is something wrong that they can't fix, it has set in damp conditions, cords etc need to be replace and it needs a good servicing. all these will cost you after the cheap purchase.

I am lucky enough to have the one my mom got for a wedding gift. It is the machine I learned to sew on and made my wedding dress with. I still use it often to piece quilt tops. I collect machines now and wouldn't mind having a couple of different models. Would pay up to $300 if in very good shape.

Yeah, sounds like he's being a little greedy. Did you mention that the ad did say that the machine was damaged and that you would still need to have it serviced. Besides the case was pretty trashed too, as I recall the outside was taped up.
Would look good cleaned up with new fabric attached to the outside of the case. Hey there's an idea for cases that are not in outwardly good shape anymore.
Let em stew, they have to remember that they are not the only machine on the planet. I'll keep looking.
Have a great weekend, take care and be safe..
    Faith :XD:
