Are there specific needles I should use in my Featherweight (1947)?

When I bought my Featherweight it had quite a few Organ brand needles in it. I am now at the bottom of them and have been unable to find any. They worked fine and I hesitate to change. Does anyone know where I can purchase that brand needles?

I think you can get them from Newark Dressmaker Supply or HomeSew.

    http://www.newarkdress.com

Then search for sewing machine needles.

I have used Schmetz needles in my featherweight with no problems. Schmetz brand is widely available in JoAnn Fabrics, etc.

Also, since the featherweight is a Singer, Singer brand needles should fit. Just check the back of the package. If it lists model numbers, you want to make sure model 221 is on there.

I got some on Ebay. The sellers web address is http://stores.ebay.com/Lovebug-Sew-N...34Q2ec0Q2em322

She actually advertises needles for a Featherweight.

I use Organ needles in all of my machines and I really like them, never had a problem with them. Come to think of it, I have NEVER had a problem with any brand of needles. YAY!! They are all well made.

I just got my new Featherweight this week. I just tried it out last night I think it needs a really good cleaning. It doesn't have a book so I will have to get one of those. I hope to get it sewing sonething tonight.
