Featherweight question
#1
FINALLY, after losing one auction after another, I found a buy-it-now FW for my daughter in the UK. Since she lives in England where they use different electrical current, I needed to buy one that was made for England. They are just as popular over there! Anyway, my question for all you FW owners is what kind of needles should I get for this machine? I want to send her a package of everything she will need, as this is her first machine and she is a new sewer. The only thing I haven't nailed down is the needles. Are they special ones?
I am also sending her the book "One Yard Wonders" and several one yard cuts of a variety of cute quilting cottons. That should get her going! I'm so happy my daughter finally wants to sew.
One of these days I'll snag my own FW. Can't wait!

You can use the normal needles, I do. I use klasse needles, 90/14 in mine. But mind that you put it in correctly the flat surface of the needle sits to the left I think.....cant remember which offhand. Have a look a the manual. Then thread it from right to left.

Me too. Just use the regular sewing machine needles and I just love my Featherweights. Good for you to do this for your daughter. Also, they do have manuals on line. Some on E-Bay auctions and there are some you can download.
