Is this a featherweight???

According to the auction, this is 221 in very good condition. The case is very nice and you paid a nice price.
It is not a 222. I don't see the little knob on the base that releases the table and makes it into a freearm next to the bottom tension for the bobbin winder. Also, 222's go for about 750 and up, especially if they are wired for the US.

wow you got that for a super price and it is a featherweight, what a cutie!!! The case is the original case, it has just been stripped of the black fabric covering. You could do a lot with that beautiful wood if you want to.
Congratulations!
Congratulations!

If the seller listed it as a 222 then there is an issue of misrepresentation- it may have been accidental but also may have been intentional knowing 222 has agreater value due to rarity- communicate with the seller the fact you are aware it is not a 222 and Ebay also likes to know as misrepresentation is considered serious.

Yours is definitely a 221. If you put the machine so you can see the underside, you will see the numbers of your machine. Then go on line and check to see what the date is. It goes by the first letters. In otherwards mine is AL. As for the case everyone is right, the outer fabric has been taken off and refurnished. Looks good. When I went to Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show and Quilters Affair a few years ago, I saw a case that someone had done decorative sewing things all around the base of the case. It ws just darling and everyone wanted to know if she did it and if not who did so they could get theirs done. It has scissors, tomato pin cushion, rulers, irons(old antique ones)rotary cutters, etc. Just as cute as can be!!! Jan
