Congratulations! I just got mine a week and a half ago. Mine is a 1949. I had no idea I was supposed to give her a name. Hmmm...
If you are interested, there is a book and DVD to help you maintain your new fw. It is by David McCallum. He is located in Burlington, WA., but has a website at www.Featherweight221.com. I bought both the book and DVD. The book is filled with SO much information! I have yet to watch the DVD. But, it's only been a week and a half! Just fyi. :-D I know repairs and maintenance can get pricey. I also bought a fw sew guide. It will not hurt the finish on your machine and adjusts from 1/8" to 1 1/2". It is super! Happy sewing! :D

Congratulations. I've started to look for one too after hearing from so many quilters how much they love there's. May you and Dana have a long and loving relationship.

And Sharon, Dave's wife, graduated highschool with my Aunt in Birmingham, AL! We got to talking at my guild's quilt show and she asked me where I was from in the south. I told her AL, and she said ME TOO! Anyway, it was too weird. Here we both were, living in WA state, and she went to the same schools as my mom and aunts and was in the same class as one of them. They are really nice people (Dave and Sharon) and they also carry qtr.inch feet for both the featherweight and the 301. I bought one with a guide for my daughter to use on the 301. My mom won't give me her featherweight yet, even though Sharon told her to!
