Now that is just a shame! I had a similar problem but thankfully was able to pull the thread out. I can't imagine being without my machine. I might go into shock! I'm going to get it serviced soon, but only because I'm headed out of state for a wedding and won't need my machine during that week. Otherwise, I'd go into withdrawals and hubby would need to revive me on an hourly basis!

Actually, today i called the dealer where i purchased my 6600 and she suggested taking a strong thread and pulling it through the tension discs. i ran some pearl cotton through it and then check with my flashlight. it took several times before i couldn't see the invisible thread. so i threaded some quilting thread through, set it up and tried FMQ. woo hoo it worked! i either got it out or moved it outa the way.

I use this machine everyday and love it. I have been sewing since the age of 7, and I have used lots of different machines throughout the years. The 6600 is a workhorse and will serve you well and sew anything you want. My machine is about 1 1/2 years old. I have sewn through layers on layers free-motioning and not a problem one. It is truly a great machine. Your husband hit one out of the park with this one, worth every penny and more...he deserves a hug.
