    I just finished sewing lots and lots of strips together. Not one curve in the bunch and I never use starch.
    I press diagonally across the seams.

    Are you using a very narrow presser foot? I read somewhere that if the presser foot is not wide enough to cover the feed dogs evenly, it can cause the machine to sew with a veer to one side.
