feeling "naughty"... i was able to sneak in some piecing before work
#21
I don't sew on week day mornings. I take care of a puppy, three cats and a bird, make our bed, warm up my breakfast, eat, drink coffee, all on the run. Take puppy and older dog outside again. My Husband washes and dries breakfast dishes. After all this we head for work, we get there about 7:20AM. Not real busy everyday so I get on this board. As long as work is done nothing else counts. We leave work at 5:00PM.

When I was still working I would get up at 5:00 and sew (in my pjs) until 5:30. Then I headed to the shower, got ready for work and left 45 minutes . It was amazing how much I could get done in that short a time!

I don't understand why you would feel like that is being 'naughty' ???? that is just good time management. I generally get more done in the mornings before work than any other time of day- I pretty much always get an hour of sewing time in before work, laundry, breakfast, dishes, what ever chores- even 'computer time'. it is my most productive time of the day. I've never considered it a negative thing.

feeling like i was misbehaving, this morning.
i've started work on my next quilt. it's going to be a very simple square block with a little border. it'll be a gift for my second cousin's new baby boy.
i had cut the center squares a few weeks ago. yesterday, i cut part of the border. this morning i chain-pieced them all and was able to press the seams!! all before getting dressed for work.
i feel like superwoman!!
oh, and i did a load of laundry!
this is a rarity in my life... so i'm going to boast a bit about it

Used to enjoy a little quiet time in the early mornings when the kids/husband were still in bed. I was alert and ready to go so made less errors and got a lot done in small amounts of time. I sewed dresses for my four girls, and made quilts too. The rest of the day was so hectic between home and kids school, cooking, laundry, housework, etc. that it was hard to get anything done in the sewing area. Now I am retired and I can sew as much as I am able. Still love it.

Congratulations! Go ahead and boast, I'm sure you feel really good. I am a real morning person, when I was working I was always up shortly after 4 to tend to dogs, cats and horses, maybe do dishes, laundry. Great way to start the day!

Way to go! I have a bad habit of starting one project and getting detoured into something else that I'd been putting off. Eventually I get around to what I was suppose to do in the first place. You have the right answer so keep on going.
