Fence Rail?

Wow, some pretty rail fences, I've done them using 3 and 4 rails. I've done them using 2 different sets of fabric strips as well, will if I can post it.

love the pictures! on the link..i like the wonky rail fence! so different!
just make sure, after you sew your strip set and press it, you measure it's width..and then you will cut the strip sets at that measurement..it has to be square for it to work!
it is a great first quilt!

Oooo! Pretty quilts, I love them all! Im just finishing my first quilt. I chose d9p for ease, I was afraid of doing something too challenging and not finishing for that reason. Im trying to figure which one is next. Have considered either log cabin or rail fence. Oh, the choices! Any thoughts? Your imput would be so appreciated.

I have done 2 rail fence patterns...one with 5 strips and another with 3. I added two borders to each ....don't remember the measurements but I just fold the fabric until I got the size that I think looks good for each border. Both quilts were lap size so probably something like 2 and 4 inches finished

My second quilt was a split rail fence called my neighbors fence.
It was easy and I was so proud of it....I recently had to make repairs to it for my sister and laughed at how wonky everything was and how badly I stitched in the ditch! Glad I learned a few things since then. Here's a pic

Ill post my d9p once finished, hopefully this week as binding is all thats left to do. My layout zigzags diagonally and I wonder if split rail will feels like "old news" though I do love it. Even considered something more challenging like dresden plate (yikes) just to change it up without getting defeated. Again, any thoughts?

I made one not too long ago. I put the picture on this board, don't have the picture on work computer. Maybe do a search to see it. Lots are on here, different colors and that makes them all different and pretty.

Good morning from Canada
I was just reading your reply about Fence Rail and you made my day. I'm looking for a pattern for a breast cancer logo and fence rail pattern, but couldn't get one small enough. (Lap quilt size) I was able to get the ribbon pattern and now I have the fence rail. Now to get the dimensions and get going. I have a friend with breat cancer so want to help her feel better. Thanks so much for posting the site.
