Foundation piecing to me is much different then paper piecing. I call foundation piecing when you sew strips to paper also called string piecing. The paper is removed. Many use old telephone pages as the foundation. I agree Carol Doak's dvd is the best instructional paper piecing to learn why you do the steps.
