    Default finished quilt and applique

I have a finished tablerunner that I made last year for the fall season. Pieced, quilted by stitch in the ditch and binding on. Now that I look at it I wish I had done some applique on it before finishing it.
After looking at it I was wondering if applique could still be applied. I was thinking about needle turn applique and using batting or fusible fleece between the applique and the quilt to give some dimension to it. Think it work? LOL I am game for anything.

    Thank

    Cindy in TN

Why not?? Unless the applique pieces are the size of Buicks, I can't see why you couldn't do it.

of course you can now applique on your finished runner- i would have to wonder about the extra padding though....if you plan to actually use your runner on a table will you want to set anything on it? added padding will give it a very uneven surface- cause for items to tip over easily if placed on it --- but if it's just for show & will not be actually used where anything will be placed on it you could certainly do it that way ---your project do what you want---remember though- if you are using the extra padding you will need to cut your applique pieces with a larger than normal turn under allowance to make up for the batting.

I think it would be a grand idea! I think it would look really nice.
