Finishing up
I'm finishing up a quilt for a friend using her only child's baby clothes. She's a single mom, her son has Down's syndrome, and she won't be having any other children so believe you me I REALLY thought about it before cutting into the clothes. I've made mostly 4 patches, some frames, and created the ribbon block. What do you think? It's very difficult and I see ALL the mistakes & problems (!) such as having those 2 Vegas block together (I think I'm going for my seam ripper again). Please help me with ideas of how to finish it up. I think I want to put the same light blue fabric as a border and finish off with a navy blue border with red binding to tie it all together. Thank you for your time (HELP!).

The light blue border will blend with the outer almost stars in the sashing which will be a good thing. There is only one dark blue piece that stands out so I wouldn't use the dark blue as a border. I know the mother will cherish this quilt.

AND, please keep in mind, if your friend is not a quilter, she will never see the mistakes.
She and her son will only see and know the love and care you took to make this lovely
Memory quilt for them. It looks wonderful!
