I posted earlier about being given material for a Lap quilt top for a charity auction. I was given 2 yards for a backing and 1/2 yard of 3 fabrics and one fat quarter for the top. Clearly not enough. After many suggestions, I went to WalMart this morning early and purchased an extra yard of each of her chosen fabrics.

I was going to try to squeeze a rail fence out of the fabric but since I was able to obtain exactly what she had, I went with my hope of the D9P. I will border it with the light tan fabric and make a binding of a black/brown print I found. It should end up close to 62 x 70. BUT should I make it square? Are lap quilts square?

Below are pics of the original block I made and four pics of possible layouts. I'll have it finished before I go to bed tonight. They're meeting tomorrow evening to quilt it.

    Which layout would you pick?

I prefer #1 or #3. I'm sure you will enjoy it whichever layout you decide on!

#1 or #3, I like the more random look of them for D9P. It's going to look great when finished :)
