Cannot believe this is your first major quilt...It is stunning.......If I were not an accomplished quilter, (which I am not) I might be tempted to send this out to a wonderful LAQ - several on this board....and let them do justice to this marvelous work of art!

It is such a beautiful quilt, I think I'd try to have it professionally longarmed, especially if you are new to the world of quilting obsession...You can see from so many here who have been quilters for awhile that it's difficult to figure the best quilting pattern for something this intricate and lovely. I don't think I'd have it too densely quilted because that will add to the weight of the quilt and make it stiff.
You are to be commended for your lovely work!

Wow, that is beautiful...and for a first major project. You are a rock star. I'd outline quilt all the beautiful pieces and go from there, with fill designs and motifs in the larger areas. What a fun quilting project this will be. Enjoy! We certainly want to see the completed quilt.

I just finished piecing my first major quilt project. It is called "Chestnut and Vine" by Marcus Brothers. It was a BOM. I love the colors! Now to figure out how to quilt it. It has some hand appliqué, so I'm not quite sure what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated .
I think I have that kit. It is sp pretty I am going to see if I have it.

I think it is just beautiful! Great job on your first big deal quilt. I remembered this quilt from another posting regarding the quilting of this BOM top: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...a-t148092.html
