I would stitch in the ditch with a walking foot all the straight seams 1st. Then again along the bias. I would stipple around the water in the center square. OR all over design of fish.

Very pretty quilt and nicely done. For the quilting , If you can , hire a longarm quilter that has a fish theme-all over design. An all-over design won't distract from the nice prints you have going.

Love it! I've been looking for a pattern to do a similar fish themed quilt. Could you share the name of the pattern?

For quilting, I would do a loose ramble in the bias borders, a quarter inch outline stitch just inside both edges of the straight borders and love the idea of a fish or water look pattern for the center section.

Wow, what a cool quilt! It makes one feel so calm and I can just imagine sitting on the bank of a shaded stream with a line in the water and more likely a good book on my knee. Lovely color choices.
