Fiskars rotary cutter & ruler combo 6x24
If you own the Fiskars Rotary Cutter and Ruler Combo 6x24 please tell me how you like it. I make up kits for our church quilters so it looks like something I might find useful for these basic quilt tops. I already own a Stripology ruler and use it.

I have the original version of this Fiskars ruler combo. I used it to cut jelly rolls before the Accuquilt came about. I have it hanging on my quilt room wall now. I don't know how the new ones are but the original one worked great.

I was given this as a 2-hand ruler and so far it is working great. I don't yet have a mat but it does cut on my cardboard mat. Payday I'm purchasing a real mat for my quilt cutting.

I don't yet have a mat
Dollar Tree sells the small self healing green mat. Get the ones with the non rounded corners and they will join up to make one big mat. I used packing tape on the back to make one large mat when I was stuck with no mat but the town had a Dollar Tree. LOL I didn't have a problem cutting over the joins at all. I noticed now there are cutting mats that are adhesive. That is something I haven't decide what good it will be but I'm sure someone will find a good purpose for them.

The first one of this ruler is decades old. it was discontinued for years and then new versions were made. I have the original version. Back then paying $49.99 was unheard of for buying a quilting tool and no online ordering. The shops that carried this was few because they wouldn't sell fast and took up a lot of shelf space. We only had a couple of sewing catalogs or magazine ads to know about the new products. I remember how hard it was to find them in shops. I had to take the ad or catalog to the LQS and show what I was asking about. Really most of the time the store owner would say just shake her head and say I doubt that will sell here. It took years to get the local LQS to even understand what pre cut EPP papers were! Even now when I ask about a new a new quilting product at a quilt shop and get the deer in the headlight look I walk out. Go home and order it online.
