Flange Binding Question

I have often "faced" my binding--reverse flange--My Mom taught me that technique when she needed to lengthen pants and there was not enough hem. And I even did a triple--facing (will be hidden) cut 1 inch wide, flange cut 1 inch wide, and main fabric cut 1 1/4 inch wide. It worked but I would only do it again as a last resort--the binding was a bit bulky.

I do like a flanged binding and have made one only once and experienced some disconnect on matching the fabrics.
Anyone have any tips or hints how to ensure the fabrics align on the final join? Sorry Watson! Didn't mean to hijack!! Jo

No problem, Jo Anne B..... I used this method and mine matched up perfectly. I think the trick is to be sure you are sewing an exact 45 degree angle across when you join the ends.
