I've never seen any of her quilt patterns printed in the Plain Dealer either. I've looked several times and I don't see them there.

One of the big ones was in TX that carried her column.
I should say the older copies of the Plain Dealer

I believe that she is featured in Barbara Brackman's book, Women of Design, which is all about quilt block newspaper columns. Maybe you could get it at your library and find some specific passages to cite.

you might log on to the Quilt History List. I am sure some there have also researched. It is one of the Yahoo groups.

Also check to see if she was ever inducted into The Quilters Hall of Fame. If so, that might give you some amo.

I just looked and she is not there.

This topic has become a none issue with Find A Grave as there is a difference of opinion between them and me. I have been told that they will no longer except any bio's I write and thus, Florence will remain a non-famous person in their eyes. It does not matter that she was a common household name with women across the US for more than 10 years that her columns ran. Or even the affect that she had on the quilting world.

Thanks for your support and suggestions.
