Hi All,
I just had to post and say a big thank you to all of you who have abided my questions and whining about my efforts with fmq, and especially regarding my new Brother PQ1500..
I sat down with it today, took out a new free motion foot I had ordered, and noticed it fits differently than the one that came with the machine...it worked so much better!!! No more weird hollow popping sound like the needle was lifting up the fabric with it each time it stitched, no broken thread or needle.. If I could do a cartwheel and actually walk afterward, I would!! So, hope this lasts..and a big thanks and quilty hugs to you all!!
Kif
PS I really don't know why the foot that came with the machine fits different, it fits differently than the 2 other feet I ordered in...I will probably contact the company and ask about it, but right now am just so happy, all I want to do is more quilting...

I would love to hear more about the foot you ordered. I, too, am trying to learn FMQ on that machine and know EXACTLY what sound you are talking about. I've never been able to explain it as well as you did, but I hear it.
My FMQ is improving, but I'd try a new foot if it helped you out.
