    Default FMQ practice sandwich

I usually warm up a bit before starting to FMQ and am always putting together a new practice sandwich when I had an “ahaaaaa” moment. I just add a new piece of scrap on top of the old while still using the old batting and backing. Think I’ll add a few more before starting from scratch.

that sounds like a good idea, my only thought is won't it get a bit thick?

They say wth FMQ that it takes practice, practice, practice but possibly you have been FMQ for awhile. You have a great idea tho'

Also helps to change thread colours each time so you can follow and check tension on the back.

I turn my practice sandwiches into placemats. They don't have to be quilted the same, just color coordinated.

Great Idea! I usually keep a practice piece sitting around but never thought about something like this. Great idea.

Someone in another thread mentioned making her practice sandwiches into zippered pouches. Thought that was a clever idea!
