I have read many posts in regards to the Slider. But I really don't want to put out that much money if I don't have to. Is there a cheaper alternative?
I just had knee surgery last week and I am going to be off work for awhile (unpaid) so money is very very tight right now. Yet I would love to practice on FMQ while out. Any suggestions are most welcome. Thanks

Folks have used silcone oven liners from Bed Bath & Beyond. Use one of your 20% coupons. You will need to make a hole for the needle and if you choose to FMQ with feed dogs up, you will need to cut a hole for them too.

Hope you have a speedy recovery. I use the teflon baking sheets with a hole in the center as suggested. I have the original slider and I can vouch that the teflon sheets work just as well and I actually like them better because the ones I bought are larger than the slider.

I bought heavy vinyl by the yard from JoAnn's, but haven't tried it yet. So far I haven't needed it.

I tried both the slider as well as the oven liners, decided I didn't need or like either. Just my HO.

I have tried this. It does make the fabric slide easier and is a lot cheaper than the slider. i use painters tape to anchor it down.
