Folded Hexagon Quilt
#11
She used a canning lid for the pattern she folded it in half Right side together and folded it in half again. she doubled the thread tied a knot barely pick up 2 threads in the center were the two lines meet. ( you have the wrong side facing you) take a stitch very close to the edge pull it up to the center .finger press right at the edge stitch thought both layers pull it to the center that forms your first point. ( right handed go right left handed go left) continue going around . I hope this makes sense. I have it on tape

Eleanor Burns has a quilt pattern that uses a template (looks like a parallelogram) for hexagons. I'm not on the hexie bandwagon, but was curious enought to buy the pattern to try on a table runner. The fabric is folded somehow...just bought the pattern so can't give any more information. Hope you find what you're needing.

After watching Quilting Arts I have made over 100 of the folded hexagons. They are easy and I used my 5 inch scrap squares. I also found the pattern in this month (May and June) Quiltmaker. They have a lamb quilt using them.

This is a great book that teaches the folded hexie. I use this technique exclusively! It's quick and fun!
