    Default Folding Fabric and/or Quilts

I went to a gathering of Long Arm Operators on the weekend and I was puzzled about how they were folding samples. First of al,l I am aware that prolonged folding sets creases. I read/was told a while ago that folding on the diagonal would help against that. These veteran business women were folding quilts AND flimsies with the good side out. I at least thought the other way would help keep things clean! But no they were talking about fiber stretch etc. I am totally confused.

I like to fold my flimsies with the good side out. They may need washing after quilting but the raw seams will not get frayed that way.

They probably fold right side out for identification while packing and checking off their list. They will refold before storage at home.

That is interesting. I usually hang mine on pant hangers in a closet. Guess I will start leaving the right side out.

I was told to fold with the right side out on a quilt top to contain the threads inside.

Me too. Right side out to keep the seams from abuse.
