Do you fold your fabric a second time for strips cut the width of the fabric? I saw a video earlier today on straightening fabric and the instructor folded the fabric twice before she cut it. I can see where this could be easier, but does it come out straight?

I am looking at the June Tailor ruler with the slots. If I could fold the fabric twice, I could buy the smaller one which is more readily available, and, of course, less expensive.

I always fold it twice, but you gotta make sure it is folded straight, or you WILL get the v in the middle.

I do. But be very accurate at this point or cutting will be a nightmare.

I fold twice also. But I run the flat of my hand over the fabric near the fold several times to be sure that I don't feel any wrinkles. If I do, I refold. Love the June Taylor ruler for cutting strips!

Fold twice also, but follow the recommendations from the posters ahead of me.

You could always cut it but not the folded edge. Open it up and finish your cut to avoid the dreaded V.

I will have to be brave and try it, but not right now. I'm getting over that nasty stomach virus and am very dizzy. No sharp instruments today!
