    Sorry I missed the first part of the story but I must say that the young lady obvious doesn't have manners. Junk indeed!!! I hope you gave as you got and then some(politely of course)

    I feel sorry for that young girl, she will have a miserable, lonely life ahead of her. And you will be fine, making beautiful quilts.

    Well it seems to me one of the fastest ways to cure such prideful insecurity is to hand someone the materials and tell them you're sure they'll do great and you are so looking forward to seeing their final project.
