I recently saw that putting a hand weight behind the foot pedal will keep it put.

I've tried all the above. Not impressed. But I love the hand weight idea! I'm buying a big one so the pedal will go between the big ends. Thank you Minnesotasam!

I love my big pedal on my Janome 9400. It's heavy and stays put.
I use the sticky mat for the small pedal for my 6600.
Maybe you could mount your pedal in a heavy wooden case.

Martelli makes a pad that worked for me, before I had to stop using the pedal and switch to the stop/go button. But that was on a wooden floor.

I don't know how your machine cabinet is set up but I'm wondering if you can put a pool noodle or piece of lumber across the back. That would at least keep it from going underneath the back. If from side to side, one of the suggestions was a foam back bath mat or the like and put the pedal in a cut out section. There are some more suggestions in a couple of threads here on QB traveling foot pedal and Sewing machine foot pedal

The pedal will stay on the non slip mat but the mats will not stay non slip on the floor. They all slide even the Martelli one. I'll figure it out.

I get your frustration. As mentioned above, a piece of the stuff you put under rugs works for me. Hope it does for you also.

I have a large rug under my table. The feet must be on the rug
    otherwise it will keep moving.

I'm thinking a peel and stick non permanent no slip step strip on the floor to hold a petal mat in place. The big hand weight is working but not ideal.

The silicone mats they sell for kitchen counters and islands come in all sizes. I have 2 different ones, and they absolutely refuse to slide, even if you want them to. Not even on a slippery metal table. Would your pedal slide on the top? Not sure, but keeping the mat firmly on the floor should be half the battle.

Just be sure you buy one that is shipped in a tube and not folded.

    hugs,
