I sew barefoot as well and lightly stand on the end of the cord with the other foot. Works perfect.

Rubber shelf liner. I got a roll at the dollar tree for a buck and it works wonderfully.

Use some of those rubber shelf liner things. It works pretty good. I also sew barefoot, I find I keep better control that way.

If you don't have any rubber shelf liner, use a jar opener.

If you sewing floor is carpet put a strip of industrial self adhesive velcro (hook side) on the bottom of the petal. It won't budge. I have to use both hands to remove my pedal from the carpet. For bare floors I put a heavy door stop behind the pedal. I always wear some type of shoe in my house and expect others to wear shoes when they are here. No one has to remove their shoes to visit me unless it is obvious they need to. :-)

I use the plastic lid of a small plastic storage box and use it as a tray. I put the pedal in the lid, and the lid is wedged against the wall. Pedal never gets far from my foot!

Me to Ditter. I tried the rubber shelf liners and after a short time all my clipped threads was stuck to it and it was skating across the floor again...
