When I lose things, I don't immediately know they are gone. It may be months until I want the item, then I tear up the entire house. This isn't a good plan. That is not how they show up. It is a surprise if they ever show again. The latest missing items are my favorite matching opal earring - gone, have no idea when or what state. Baby Jesus is missing from the Christmas manger. I lost a pin cushion with my favorite pins. I could go on.
My husband bought me "Tiles" for Christmas to find my keys, my phone. This is a good tool.

I'm missing my glucometer and can't find it anywhere. I know I didn't put it any place in particular. I've even moved furniture looking for it. It's too big to be lost!

After sweeping multiple things into the trash, I screwed a cup hook under my sewing table and hung a plastic carry-bag from the supermarket. It hangs *under* the table, so nothing can fall into it, but it's easy to put stuff into it. When it's full, I tie it shut and throw it away.

Now if only I could figure out a system for everything else...

same thing happens when snapping green beans or pinching off the green part from strawberries.
Pretty soon beans and berries are in the compost bowl snaps and tops in the clean bowl

Heaven help me if I clean the sewing room and put things in a new place thinking that would be a better, easier spot. It is too confusing at my age to be doing such a thing. I try not to talk on the phone and do anything in the sewing room. That is a big no no for me.

Latest thing I lost i a small canister of pepper spray I carry in a pocket when I walk my two mini Schnauzers. We live not too far from the river and the coyotes and bobcats seem to be getting bolder. Have looked in all the likely places with no luck...guess I'll just have to buy another. As far as keys are concerned, they were always in a different place in my deep handbags which drove me nuts. I solved the problem when I bought one of those fuzzy ball things (red) that attaches to my keychain. It looks sort of funny, but I can always find them by feel if not by sight. Works for me!

It's gotten so bad for me finding things in unusual places that I worry 'what was I thinking' when I find something where it is supposed to be!

lost my whole key ring for four days--the whole weekend, plus. i could not find that thing anywhere. turned out it was in the fridge, in my lunchbag. one of the sales men we deal with at work had brought in lunch for our department (a small group), so i didn't eat lunch. drove home that night, and having made a stop for groceries on the way home, tried to consolidate things to carry them in from the garage. i didn't pay attention to which bag i'd tossed them for the trip in, and just put the lunch bag away for tuesday, because of a blessed day off on monday. spent all weekend trying to find them, and didn't find them until tuesday morning, when i grabbed the bag, again. i was so relieved. the keys smelled of garlic, just from being in the fridge. and the hubby, who had to lend me his keys for the weekend, has never let me forget it.
