Red face Four year old granddaughter sewing!

My granddaughter saw me sewing on my machine and asked me if I would teach her how to stitch. So for the next hour she and I worked on that. I taught her how to iron her fabric and then we went to the sewing machine. She had so much fun sewing. I have a Janome 6500, it has a speed control so I set it on the slowest setting. I taught her how to stitch a seam. She did very well. She sewed two seams on her doll quilt and then asked me if I could make it go faster. She did a good job for only being four years old. I will help her finish it she was so proud of herself and so was her Gram. I hope to continue teaching her.

Great idea!...Think I will see if my granddaughter want to learn...they are 5. Starting them early might be the trick....have to plan something.
