I can be a real science geek at times. So this past Tuesday I was watching NOVA on PBS and the show was on Fractals and Fractal geometry. In essence, fractal mathmatics help to explain the repetitive design elements found in nature. I found myself thinking about quilting the entire show and marveled at what cool quilting designs some of these fractal images would make. Here is a link to a website I found with fractal images I though everyone might enjoy taking a peek at and, like me, start seeing the endless quilting design possibilities in them.

I thought the show was great also, and I hate math! My husband couldn't believe it when he walked in the room and I said I was watching fractal geometry. He quickly became involved as well. Thanks so much for these links...fun stuff to explore!

Fractels are the one piece of math that I understood in college. I found it beyond fascinating, and I wasn't even close to being a quilter back in those days. The possiblities - limitless - the imagination gets to go crazy!
