    Default Frazzled

I wanted to give the Heat and Bond Featherweight another chance before giving it the thumbs down. I fused it to the back of my silhouette and fused it to the quilt top. The bad news is,the silhouette peeled right off. The good news is, I could re-use the silhouette and try it wth Wonderunder.
I ironed the Wonderunder to my silhouette. Oh oh, why is it not sticking very well to the silhouette? Okay, I will try and fuse it in place. Why is it not working???? Forgot to plug the iron back in. Well my silhouette is now fused on and I will wait until later tonight to buttonhole stitch the edge. I have left the sewing room before something worse happens and Heat and Bond Featherweight is off my supply list FOREVER!

Hmmm....I hadn't heard of the Heat'n Bond Featherweight, I use the Lite version all the time & LOVE it! Are you using it on batik by any chance? Just read this review on the product, guess it's each to their own experiences & expectations yet again, huh! http://lovelyfrankensteindesigns.blo...d-feather.html

I've used it and don't recall any problems with the product. Did you pre-wash your fabrics first, no softener in rinse or in dryer?

One thing I learned by mistake is when you use Heat and Bond and overheat it, it turns a milky white and won't adhere. I reread the instructions and discovered what I had done.

My fabric was clean, washed, no starch and iron on the setting required. The first time I used it I timed my iron application and the appliqué peeled at the edges as I tried to stitch the edge. The second time I tried it again and the appliqué peeled right off. Could I have gotten a bad batch? Maybe but at $8.50 a yard and 22 inches wide it 's too expensive to buy a product that won't work for me. I am going to ask my LQS to order in Wonderunder for me and I will try Heat & Bond light for my backup fusible.

I have never had good luck with the Heat and Bond products. I'm a Wonderunder girl all the way!
