    What a drag! She definitely messed up and hasn't been very helpful.I just finished a quilt where I had the same thing happen. Now this might be a crazy question but if you do 1/2 inch seams to all the pieces wouldn't it still work? You need at least 1/2 inch seam so it will fray

    Nope, it doesn't work if you follow the directions and use the required 1/2 inch seam. There is a problem with the size of the cut squares. Someone did not sit down and work it out mathematically and did not proof read their directions.

    The block fits together IF one uses 1/4 inch seams.

    The unfinished size (when using 1/4 inch seams) is 12 x 12 inches.

    The finished size (when using 1/4 inch seams) is 11.5 x 11.5 inches.

    To make it "work" using 1/2 inch seams:

    Original size ->> new size

    5 x 5 ->> 5.5 x 5.5
    5 x 4 ->> 5.5 x 4.5
    8.5 x 4 ->> 9 x 4.5 (cut 2)
    12 x 4 ->> 12.5 x 4.5

    Thank you for all of your help. My gf and I played and played with it. We came to the realization that the measurements she gave were for the finished sizes and did not add the 1/2" all around! Someone did not proofread her pattern or attempt to work on it following her directions before it went to print. This is a 2 year old pattern so I can't believe NO ONE ever called her to tell her that there is a problem.

    Lessons learned: read through entire pattern before starting work
    cut out paper using the measurements to make sure they work
    don't buy any pattern from her again
    go back to using my old standard rag quilt pattern!

    I am new to this board and have been referred by several quilters who mentions someone on this group may be able to help.

    Has anyone made a quilt using the pattern Sugar Plum by Freckleberry Farms? If you have and it went together correctly, will you PLEASE send me the correct measurements to cut the fabric. Something is VERY off, if you cut the fabric as stated in the pattern, you do not get a 12X12 square. Tried to contact Sherie Bignell numerous times to get the corrections. She either does not answer her e-mail or phone or if after a week of trying she finally gets on the phone she argues that the measurements are correct then when she sees the problems says she will get back with the corrections-- so far after 12 days of these games, no progress.

    Thank you so much

    I took a class from her at PCC last year. She was and *interesting* lady. I tried to get in touch with her a number of times and never could. I would love to have someone to quilt with but there was only one other person in the class besides me. I mentioned this board a bunch of times and she was very unresponsive to that as well. She pushed the Road to California and seemed to be more interested in promoting her designs and having a booth than anything.
