    Default Free miniature quilt patterns?

Our guild is including a miniature quilt auction in our quilt show in October. I have been googling looking for good free patterns, and then I decided to ask here.

Do you have a favorite miniature quilt pattern? I make 3 miniatures two years ago for our last quilt show, all sort of four patches with a focus fabric design. I am looking for something a bit different but not too complicated. Is there a miniature rail fence or Warm Wishes, for example, or is that something I have to figure out on my own, math-wise, that is.

    Thanks for any info.

You can miniaturize a lot of patterns including log cabin, warm wishes, Ohio star, just to name a few. Good browsing here.

You can look for blocks according to size at quilterscache.com but I would take one of my favorite patterns and resize it myself.

This a site with many miniature quilt block patterns. Just pick one and make your own miniature pattern. At 4.5 inches a 3x4 layout with a border would make a fine miniature quilt. The ones in bold are current and free.

Quad paper from the store makes a wonderful grid for log cabin blocks. I think miniatures are best paper pieced for my eyes.

If you have any of the CDs that go with the Carol Doak paper piecing books you can print the blocks out at any size to make a mini.
