Thanks for a wonderful tip. What a great idea. This may sound like a silly question but do they wash OK or do they bunch up after washing? What if they are washed on a gentle cycle and dried on low or air dried?

Thank you Quilting Addict. You have a good point. I have some denim fabric that I've been collecting for a rag quilt. Some of the denim has very small stains (not much bigger than the size of pin mark stains but I know they are there and won't use it for a quilt.) I didn't want to just throw this in the trash and don't want to hoard it. Now I have a good use for it.

Love the idea, I have about ten Wal Mart bags full of small scraps, just saved them thinking I might figure out something to use them for. I will make some pillow beds for the Humane Society, now. Thanks

I have one going right now. I used some army fabric I had and made a bag. A friend and I are doing Bonnie Hunters Mystery RRCB right now, so she is helping fill the bed. It is about ready to close up. Will be great for my pups. Guess I will need to make another bag. No problem. I bought 50 yrs of the army fabric, uniform fabric. I know, what was I thinking. It was seconds and $1.00 a yard in 2007. DH National Guard unit went to Afganistan. I made t-shirt quilts and purses and other stuff. Still have some. Thinking about making new leaders for my longarm with it. I need new leaders and canvas is $9 a yard.

This is great. I've been cutting up old shirts by the tons and I've been saving the seams and anything else that I can't use, but didn't quite know how to make a pet bed. I want to donate them to a shelter.
