    everyone has been asking about the pattern for my sandhill crane. i drew it on freezer paper with a sharpie, and started at the bottom (the feet) and just worked my way up to create my crane on the quilt...here is what i started with, from here i layed light colored fabric (background) over it, traced it lightly with a pencil and then did raw-edge fused applique

    sorry he's sideways...

    Love your pattern, would you consider sharing it? We get the Sandhills here in about another month. We have two nesting pair in the forest behind our yard area. We see them quite often and hear them ALOT!!

    it's a picture called sandhill crane- a quilt all in neutrals i did for sister in law. this is just the picture i started from many were asking about
