Say it ain't sew! The QB can't be stumped. The unknown being the star/snowflake block is far beyond my capabilities to find. But it really adds a lot to the french braid. I hope someone locates the mystery block.

Thank you for your positive comments regarding my quilt! I appreciate it. This was a pattern from a shop hop.
There have been a number of mentions regarding the 'snowflake' block and I did some research. Take a look at the Crown of Thorns block (quilterscache has one called Crown of Thorns 2). Very similar with careful color placement. Mine is a square in a square, and on the outer edge where the C of T has two half square triangles in the center, mine is a solid square.

Greencat, how large are the small diamond blocks? the one's that travel down the center of the braid? I looked at the Crown of Thorns 2 that you were mentioning, really neat how you placed the colors......... Bevster
