I thought these would be the holy grail of marking until it got cold and the markings came appeared just as fresh and dark as when I first made them. I tried ironing, washing in hot water, drying on the highest heat possible and they still keep coming back to haunt me.

This pen was discussed at our Guild with the same concerns about the "cold". So, one of our members, made marks and then ironed them. Of course, they disappeared as advertised. She then put the item in the freezer and guess what? All of the marks returned. They also disappeared when ironed.

(A footnote---she had seen them at shows and they were priced but apparently they are available at Office Supply Stores and she even mentioned Wal Greens (haven't checked that out)

Another caution about these pens...I used them to mark quilting lines on a t-shirt quilt for DDIL. On dark fabric, when I used the iron to remove the marks, it left behind a light line.

I'm wondering, though, if the marks reappear when the quilt is cold, if they would disappear again with a trip through the dryer?

A friend bought me a purple pen at a quilt show....I had no idea it was actually for quilting! I just thought it was an ink pen.

Imagine my horror as I watched my ink marks disappear when I ironed my fabric! I needed those marks on the wrong side of my fabric. Thought I'd touch up the wrinkles before I stitched it. Nope, all gone!
