I use the ball point, the other one is too thick for my liking.

I have several colors of the pens and I love them all. It makes it so much easier for marking then just iron it away. Some will say that the coldness will make the marks come back but I live in new england and that has never happened

I use the ball point. Test them on your fabric first though because some colors of the pen and some fabrics will leave a bleached out looking line when ironed. This doesn't happen often but on a few occasions I have had it happen so now I test. I use Frixon pens a lot.

I also love mine, use all the colors depending on the project, get them at the office supply store much cheaper than the quilt store.

Is there a certain style better than another one?

I bought a couple at Staples, are they the same thing? They say Frixion on them. Just want to be sure they are the same thing before I ruin anything. I bought a marker and a pen

You have to make sure if your purchase at Staples or Office Depot,....or anywhere, I guess.....there is a Frixion pen that IS NOT THE DISAPPEARING PEN. It has to be the erasable pen....I use the ballpoint and purchase them at Office Depot during the year, and at CVS and Walgreens when they are having Back to School sales. I was able to get them one year for 96 cents because they had a rebate in addition to a markdown on the pens. Love them!
