I have most of my blocks done but tried putting two togather and made a mess.
Which foot do you use? and how do you align your blocks?
So far it has been easy but now it is awkward and backwards to try and align and sew.

When I do fun and done I use my regular quarter inch foot. A walking foot could probably help. Pin the blocks together BACKS together and sew as close to the batting as you can. Then iron the excess fabric to the quarter inch fold, and then top stitch. I haven't had any prob with the pinning but I'm a beginner on the machine and my first quilt looked kind of messy. My second one looks lots better.

I used a zipper foot to attach the blocks together, I could get closer that way.

On my Crazy quilt (you are going to laugh) I sewed 5 backing blocks together (just backing material) then I took the pieces and stitched them on the batting and then tied the batting and top to the backing and then turned over the edges and stitched them down (a lot of pressing to hold the edges turned over to stitch down!!!!)

I do have a zipper foot, it just didnt look like one.
    It worked perfect.
Now I have 4 squares togather but need 8 for the row. Do I connect all 8 before sewing down the sashing? Seems it can be done in different ways.
Would it be better to connect all the rows togather before sewing down all the sashing?
