I need some opinions.
I am making a quilt for a fundraiser for my daughter-in-law who has breast cancer. The pattern is Moda-Moose on the Loose. The pattern is very outdoorsy and a man would like it as well. My dilemma is should I have it quilted with the breast cancer ribbon logo or do something generic not knowing who will win it?

Personally, I wouldn't quilt it with the breast cancer ribbon logo. My sister, had cancer and always disliked that logo as she felt it was a constant reminder of her illness.

This quilt is being raffled off, the person who has cancer isn't getting it, but that is what I wanted to know. If a man won the quilt he may not like the logo quilted in.

I agree with Sally. On top of that, the ribbon would really clash with your beautiful quilt design. I would go with either a realistic filler or a traditional fill. The moose is just adorable. Anyone would love that quilt & with the holidays coming up, it would make a great gift for a man, woman or child.

If you want to add a nod to the Breast Cancer Foundation, maybe you could print/embroider a small pink ribbon on the label & reference that it's a raffle quilt. Anything more than that would likely severely limit the number of potential bidders & I'd really love to see you get top dollar for your daughter-in-law (and I hope she makes a full recovery).

I would Not use the breast cancer logo as it is going to a raffle and may not appeal to everyone. Instead do an allover stipple or other quilting design appropriate for the design.

You're making the quilt to raise as much money as possible. Therefore you should make the quilt as appealing as possible to as many people as possible. Don't limit your "market" by using a pink ribbon quilting theme.

I opted for a design that will go with the pattern, it has acorns, oak, maple leaves etc. The thread is a light bronze color.

Hi everyone,

I'm a little bummed that my quilt only went for $70 at my daughter-in-law's cancer fundraiser.
I had about $100 into the making of it. I felt if it had been displayed better (it was folded up) it might have done better. Oh well, its the thought that counts.
