Yes, I use my QuiltCut for strips and squares that I need multiples of, but have not tried cutting diamonds with it. I do like how it works and my strips so not have the dreaded bow. You will need to have space to leave the QuiltCut out...or a convenient storage spot, because if you can get to it, well, you know...you just won't use it. I can't really say if you will like it or not. Weigh the pros and cons and then decide. :-)

I love gadgets...sometimes I don't remember what all I have....bought so many high priced gadgets when my nieces, daughters and I were scrap booking that I shy away from the acucut ....wish there was a way to efficiently use my circuit or other die cuts for quilting

I have used the quilt cut 2, and I don't like it because I try not to sew triangle shapes. I'm more of a 'sew a square and cut it off' person. But it does cut accurately, if that's what you're looking for.

I've had the Alto's QuiltCut2 for about 2 and 1/2 yrs, and I love it, honestly don't know how I did without it! I started out drawing on fabric with a template, and cutting with scissors! Didn't even know what a rotary cutter was! I have used mine a LOT, asking for a new mat for it for Mother's Day! In my opinion, it's been worth every penny, no dies to buy. I had a QuiltCut2 for several years, but sold it. I didn't have a dedicated space and wasn't using it that much.

I loved all your comments, had me laughing too. Aww I love this stuff. Where else could you go and just enjoy a simple toy to help with an obsession such as ours. Quilting is so involved! I'll probably get the dang thing but not for a while. I just got a magic wand and a wing cutter.

Um, I love gadgets! What is a magic want and a wing cutter? I've never heard of those, but they certainly sound like fun toys!

Well, it depends on how you look at things I guess. Back b-4 the rotary cutter quilters worked with templates and scissors. Now there are SO many gadgets available it's hard to decide which ones to use and which ones to leave alone. I mean, all one "NEEDS" to quilt is a needle and thread, scissors, fabric and batting. But you could probably add a hoop to quilt in, and a sewing machine to do piecing with, and as long as you're piecing on a machine you may as well quilt on the machine as well and since you're using a machine you should probably have a cutting mat, rotary cutter and ruler, and heck, let's throw in a template or 2 (or 10) for cutting different shapes, and fancy marking pens and a die cutter and heck, it's a pain to quilt on the little domestic machine, let's get a long arm, and... well b-4 you know it your sewing room looks like mine! LOL! But it sure is fun in there! And I doubt I'd ever finish even one quilt if I had to sew the whole thing by hand anyway!

So...the short answer is, I guess we don't "need" any of the modern gadgets, but it sure is hard to say "when." Besides the more gadgets I buy the more I'm supporting the economy right??

It's another whole world of gadget rulers. I just found them but she has been doing this for a long time. I called the Wing Clipper a Wing cutter. It's a clipper (ruler for trimming Flying Geese Units). I have not used it yet. The magic wand helps with marking hst and a few other things. Toys they are!
