OOHH I love your blocks that you found! I would think to try airing them out for a couple days and then put them in the washer in the delicate/handwash cyle if the airing out didnt work. Great find!

Definitely wash them. Make sure to add a healthy dose of vinegar to rinse. Washing will also get rid of the greasy residue left from the smoke.

I've never had luck hanging fabrics out to get rid of smoke w/o washing them first.
I do them by hand in the sink and then hang them out.
Hope you find the right solution for you!
    Great finds :D

Do just a few as a test first.
This would be my suggestion as well.

Where do you people find these great deals? Garage sales, thrift store finds...I'm so jealous!!!

Heloise says newspaper is great for absorbing odors, as well as baking soda, both are very inexpensive. The vinegar will help too. Good luck!

Wonderful find. Hope you finde a way to get rid of the smell so you can use them. I have the new washer with the sanitizing cycle on them. I would spray with a odor eliminator spray, Home Depot Has a great one hang out side in sun for a few days see if that helps. DEB

I'd try a garment/lingerie bag and low cycle on machine
