Here's a Geisha Panel I did recently with one of those panels. I traced the sections and cut out the fabrics to fit and then used steam-a-seam to fuse them onto the background fabric. I then cut out the geisha figure and fused it to a background fabric ... then blanket-stitched (or zig-zag) around all the pieces. I added borders, sandwiched and quilted it.

Margaret, Thank you. I think I've figured out how to enlarge. I took a couple close-ups and then added them as attachment and ...... poof.... they're large..

that's a whooping crane fabric isn't it. Do you know the size of the print on that fabric? I mean I wouldn't want to use one of the big designs on the panel because I would loose the sense of it. Do you know what I mean?

And by the way how did you get the chrysanthamum for her hair? Is that what is called fussy cuts.

Hi tkhooper, That is a fairly good size print on the fabric. I wasn't sure it would work, but I did fussy cut and tried to make sure that the pieces touching each other did NOT match up so it looks more like folds in the dress. The flower in her hair was cut out of a different fabric and fused on. ............ Penny
