    I have the Brother 2000 and I love it it has left, right and middle sewing and yes you can change it any time you want to.It also has a needle threader witch I love to. and so many stitches to chose from :D

    You need to go to a dealer that carries several brands to compare. There are MANY machines for sale where the needle can be moved left or right of the center position.

    I went to my sew/vacuum store and they had some very nice machines for decent pricing. I would recommend going to them and checking them out. I was very honest with mine upfront with pricing. They had layaway so it made it easier for me to go just a little above what I wanted and I got a machine that is perfect for me!
