Getting stains out of vintage quilts?
#1
I have two quilt tops, a grandmother's flower garden and what looks like a rosebud double wedding ring. But not really. Hard to describe and it isn't finished. It is missing most of the squares centers of the bud-crossings if you will, and sixteen buds from around the edge. I have a bag of the fabric that was used to make the green part of the buds and the squares, but some of the other colors are badly stained. I would love to finish piecing this quilt. There is enought of the green and it seems to have some polyester content, but I haven't tested yet. Anyway, how do I get the stains out of the fabric? Any help would be appreciated. I am pretty certain the tops were made by my paternal grandmother's cousin or her sister. The fabric bag from Colonial Fabrics in Daytona, FL with the reciept from 1964 seals the deal on that one.
