    Default Glide Thread

Have any of you quilters out there ever worked with Glide thread? I never heard of it until just now when I linked to their website from Quilty Pleasures Blog. If you have worked with it, did you use if for piecing or quilting, in a DMS or LA? I'm including the website link. Thanks for any information that you can provide.

Edit: I just went back to the website and explored it a bit further. There are several types of thread offerred by the company, so if you have experience with any of their other threads please share.

I use it for longarm machine quilting and absolutely love it. My customers always remark on the thread when they see it in their quilts. I buy the nice brights for Linus quilts. I use the white and off white when I custom quilt. It works well for filler work. I can not say enough good about the results I get with it.

Can this be used on a personal sewing machine?

Any thread that can be used on a longarm machine CAN be used on a regular machine, BUT not all thread used on a regular machine, CANNOT be used on a longarm machine. Longarm machines are a high speed and require a stronger thread.

Hmmm, will check it out. I have not heard of it before. Thanks for the link.

Very interesting and best of all the thread is made in the USA! I am going to order some as I need some black soon.

The pre-filled bobbins solved all of the problems we were having on our longarm. This stuff is incredible, works like a miracle and is beautiful to boot.

I bought some after I saw someone's quilt posted on this board. It was so pretty, I ordered it without thinking (I don't have a longarm). I'm glad I did--it works beautifully on my machine.

I was given a sample pack with spools of Glide thread. It's great! No lint and beautiful colors.

Forgot to say the Cairo Quilt thread seems to be exactly like Aurifil thread to me. I can't tell any difference. And there is a sale special on it now.
