I made a queen sized quilt and used glow in the dark thread to quilt it. I used some free style quilting and it turned out very nice. When the lights go out it really glows. I woke up every hour just to see it glow. I took a picture but it doesn't show up, I guess because of the flash. I got the thread at Joann's fabric store and it cost $5.99 for 100 yds.

    It's a beautiful quilt!

My DH wouldn't like the glow in the dark thread, tho, 'cause he likes the room very dark when he sleeps. lol

    It's very beautiful.

To film the GID. You have to take a long exposure. You have to have the camera on a tripod, no flash and leave the shudder open for like 20 seconds so it absorbs all the light. Also helps to "charge" the quilt right before you hit the take picture button. I used a black light.

That's how I filmed the ones I did. And this is how they actually look in the dark.

What a fun idea. I've never heard of glow in the dark thread before. I may have to get some and try it myself. Thanks for sharing your idea with us.

    And your quilt is lovely!

Did you machine quilt using the thread or is it the type you can only hand quilt with?
