I've been using the glue basting for a while now too, love the results! My metal-tipped bottle has turned up missing, have had to go back to the elmer bottle - will have to track that little fella down. Good idea on the ink refiller bottle - may be easier for me to find than the craft glue bottle.

I'm a big fan of the Elmer's school glue.
I use it not only for binding but also for peiceing blocks, every point matches, it's wonderful.
    I hardly ever use pins.

yes glue basting is a best kept secret. i use both glue sticks and glue. it doesnt have to be elmer's school glue. just use a washable glue. and yes a warm iron is recommended to set the glue and make nice sharp edges and perfect mitered corners.

Since watching Susan's You-Tube video, I glue all my bindings. It does take a little more time, but the results are well worth it.
